Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and girlfriend Katherine Webb weren’t able to spend Valentine’s Day together because Webb was on the road promoting the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

So he gave her a ring and a dozen roses as a belated Valentine’s Day gift.

No, it wasn’t an engagement ring, but it might be an indication of bigger things to come since Webb is clearly interested in marrying McCarron.

She posted the photo on Instagram.

“Nothing better than to come home to this after a long week,” Webb tweeted. “I love you babe! @10ajmccarron #HappyVDay.”

One of Webb’s followers got a little nervous over the photo.

“Catherine please take this photo down,” wrote alabamartr15. “It is sweet but the NCAA is going to come up with some crap and get aj and Alabama under investigation.”

Webb and McCarron have been dating since December.

Webb spent the week in New York and Las Vegas doing interviews and attending parties for SI.

She was a struggling model in Los Angeles before ESPN’s Brent Musburger pointed her out in the stands as Alabama defeated Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game last month.

“I was actually having a hard time in Los Angeles booking jobs,” Webb said. “I was already with an agency. And after all this happened, people started calling. Now I’m finally able to make some money and help out my family and myself.”

She landed a celebrity diving reality show, a Super Bowl reporting job for “Inside Edition” and the SI Swimsuit Edition in just a matter of weeks.
